Job Title: System Design Authority Engineer Location: Broad Oak, Portsmouth. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangementsSalary: Up to £61,400 depending on skills and experience What you'll be doing:Owning system designs for specified Digital Services products and services, and being responsible for requirements, interfaces and trade-offs required to meet the product, programme, business and customer needs as the projects evolveApplying expertise to influence and guide stakeholders through close working, interfacing with customers, suppliers and other functions acting as an ambassador for engineering to these groupsManaging design certification and approvals when requiredWorking with digital services product owners to ensure a coherent approach to product evolution and sustainmentWorking in conjunction with the other SDAs ensuring information and experience are spread amongst the community and adequate challenge is given to plans and design principlesSupporting to bid and estimating activities for specified digital services products Your skills and experiences:Previous experience or knowledge of how to tailor and apply business and engineering policies and processes to engineering projectsPrevious experience of influencing senior technical stakeholders/technical authorities internally and externallyUnderstanding of working in the systems/software domain enabling good technical challenge and resolution of technical conflict across multiple disciplinesDegree in a relative subject desirable would be desirable but not essential Benefits:You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. BAE Systems Maritime Services delivers end-to-end support to over 50 per cent of the Royal Navy's surface fleet. Our services include ship upgrades, repairs, dockyard facilities management and provision of combat systems training. We also develop and support the Royal Navy's complex equipment, such as radar, torpedoes and small boats.You'll work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure design integrity and safety for specified Digital Services products and services and ensure any design decisions meet all contractual, regulatory and legislative requirements. Within the team, you will be responsible for technical performance and compliance across a specified Digital Services product and service development, ensuring that any technical issues/conflicts are considered and resolved.
