My client, a well-known Financial Services organisation, is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join them in the City of London on a permanent basis. You will be required to be onsite 2 days a week which includes a dedicated Team day. This is an exciting time to join as the organisation is currently undergoing a huge transformation including the build of a new trading platform and the adoption of Automation/DevOps tools.
Role:
As a Senior Java Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing software systems and applications. You will act as high-level decision influencer in the process of determining everything from design choices to technical standards, such as platforms, coding standards and tools.
The following are essential:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Software Development
- Experience working with JVM based languages eg Java or Scala or Kotlin
- Experience in:
- Developing applications using Kafka/Confluent
- Testing frameworks eg Unit, Mock, BDD, TDD, Automation
- OOO/OOD concepts and design patterns & Micro-services
- SQL databases
- Understanding of DevOps principles and practices
- Passionate Agile and/or Scrum practitioner
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
The following are desirable:
- Scripting languages, preferably Python
- Kubernetes and/or Docker
- SpringBoot
- Hazelcast
- noSQL or distributed databases (Redis, Couchbase etc)
- AWS, CloudFormation and other cloud technologies
Working Hours & Flexible Working:
- Monday - Friday (9am - 6pm), 2 days onsite in the London office.
Salary: £ Competitive Base Salary + Bonus + Benefits
